The profile of Nuertingen-Geislingen University (NGU), in German “Hochschule fuer Wirtschaft und Umwelt Nürtingen-Geislingen (HfWU)”, is based on the principles of sustainability. The university’s main research and teaching focus lies on four areas of competence: Business and Economics as well as Landscape Planning and Agriculture.

In 1985, on basis of this faculty, Yakut Agricultural Institute was created, which in 1995 was transformed into Yakut State Agricultural Academy. In 2020, the Academy acquired the status of a University.
